London, 25 April, 2012 - Burson-Marsteller UK has hired Michael Hartt to join its Corporate and Crisis practice as a Director. Hartt comes from Edelman’s Washington office, where he led campaigns on behalf of businesses, governments and global non-profit organisations. He was instrumental in the campaign to secure freedom for Silva Harotonian, an NGO worker imprisoned in Iran, which won PR Week U.S. awards for Crisis and Public Affairs Campaign of the Year and a PRSA Silver Anvil. He will join B-M’s London team to work on a range of major clients and will report to, Practice Chair, Amanda Pierce.
Amongst the clients Hartt has worked with in the United States are: the U.S. Virgin Islands, regarding its multi-billion dollar economic development partnerships with Diageo and Beam Inc.; the embassies of the Netherlands and Switzerland; the British Council; Boeing (commercial and defence); ITT Exelis; the Business Roundtable; the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA); the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (the “9/11 Commission”) and the Iraq Study Group.
